Silver Flowers

Silver Flowers

Midnight hour
In spring time,
Under a glass sky…
A dormant brush
Turned his silence
Into a revolutionary cry…
His wisdom
Into a surrendering guide,
His understanding
Into a disobedient act…

A new dawn,
Pure seed
Awakened his soul…

They heard him sing to the stars
Declare his love to the moon
and the morning sun…

They saw him dance in the sand
arms stretched as if holding the sky
circling and circling around…
While tears rolled down his eyes…

They heard him…
laugh by the shore…
surrender his love
to one and all…
I love again
I love again
he would say
I love the moon,
The sun
The stars
The sky
The rain
I love you…
I love again

Gone were the days
Of silver flowers
On red traffic cones…
Of urban trains
Their hiding eyes,
Pushing elbows
And dead smiles…
From fake travelling men…

They saw him
Smile to every man,
Woman and child…
Dance in the sand
arms stretched as if holding the sky
circling and circling around…
While tears rolled down his eyes…

They saw him
Being taken away…
Before the judge declared
He was insane
And a threat…
